They're Back
When the white tent goes up in Brigham Square, you know The Quill and the Sword is looking for fresh blood, I mean, new members.
And those initiates can hardly imagine what awaits them.
Their lives will be full of midnight runs across campus, wielding swords, maces, etc. They will start using terms like "hence" and "oft" more frequently in regular speech. And when they plan their weddings, only the best of the medieval reenactments will suffice.
All the while, the rest of us will look on and wonder why they were born in this century in this country and go to this school. They would have been much better of at Salamanca or Oxford or Hogwarts...

One word comes to mind: Yikes.
Yikes...Thank goodness I haven't seen that at the U! :)
Ha ha...I think you should join!
Come on! I know you want to join!
Little do we know that you are the one who leads these geeks on their weekly tyrannical. Nice facade, but "I can see straight through your armour."
FREAKS! Thats what I call em.
From the sound of things, there are things that happen in Provo that many of us are completely unaware of. Thank you for keeping us informed. First City Hall, and now the white tend in Brigham Square. What will be next?
oops...that's "tent".
Bets and I may or may not have wanted to join the quill and sword our sophomore year. To convince our friends of this, we made swords and hats from newspaper. As if that were not enough we even made a secret club sign. We even showed up to learn fencing techniques and by that I mean that we showed up with treats and watched them “fence trot” back and forth. One of the best times of my life for sure…
I watched this amature film on demand a few months ago. It was about the geeks that do the "Quill and Sword" type stuff. It was the funniest thing. I laughed so hard. It was great. You should watch these geeks, they do some funny stuff. One guy, he was probably 30 or so, he says his mom makes him take out his bridge work before a "battle." But it's ok because he's decided it makes him look more feirce! He he he. So he takes them out (his front teeth are gone) and he opens his mouth really wide to show his canines and hisses at the camera to prove his point. So funny! I was in tears. It was great. I also loved Nacho Libre. Good show. I also like to watch WWF on occasion. It's one of my secret indulgences. That's funny, funny stuff.
